Thanks to the Sacred Bridges Cuups group here in Des Moines, I will be hosting a Bon-Inspired Ritual on Sunday, the 21st of September here in Des Moines at the First Unitarian Church located at 1800 Bell Ave @ 6:30pm. Weather permitting we will be using the labyrinth for the ritual and there will be a pamphlet as well as a little something else to take home from the ritual. It is free to attend.

About the Ritual:
I call this an ‘inspired’ ritual because I have taken elements from both the outer and inner practices of Bon and melded them into a familiar, western-style ritual format so that we could participate and explore Bon spirituality as a group. We will be taking refuge, saying prayers for Bodhicitta, Dedicating Merit, Inviting the Dakini’s as our elementals, using mantras, drums, and more. Also, as a Classical Shaman I will be performing an intercession to request that Satrig Ersang – the Great Mother (aka Prajnaparamita, Tara, Sherab Chamma) bless and heal all in attendance. There will be many traditional elements, but this is a rite that I wrote specifically for this event. The ritual will be conducted in both English and Tibetan.
What you should bring:
Flower and or Fruit – These will be used as offerings
Drums – There will be a time to use them, Feel free to bring one! =)
Cushion or Blanket – You may want to sit during at least one point of the ritual if you do, bring a little something to sit on.

Ritual Wear – If you have ritual wear… then wear it! By all means!
